Doctoral Programs in Education (PhD and EdD) Comprehensive Examination Schedules, 2007-08
The Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Education (PhD and EdD) Comprehensive Examination Schedule for 2007-2008 is indicated below. Please publicize this schedule to doctoral students in your respective departments/specializations and instruct students to sign up for the examination with Shannon in her office ONE MONTH prior to the examination period.
The exam will be administered and proctored by the student's respective department. It will be the responsibility of the student, in conjunction with his/her department, to make arrangements for the administration and monitoring of the comprehensive exam. Students will also need to make arrangements for any special equipment they may need (i.e., computer, printer, etc.)
The exam will be administered on a scheduled Friday twice each semester. As in the past, only a dictionary and blank disks will be allowed in the testing site.
The exam will be an 8-hour specialization exam given in 2, four-hour time blocks from 8:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 5:00.
Please note that in the C and I doctoral specialization the dates below are used for both Option A, the 8-hour doctoral comprehensive exam, and Option B, the 72-hour take home comprehensive exam. For Option B, exams begin Friday morning and are turned into the committee chair (or designated committee member) 72 hours later on Monday morning. For Option A, the 8-hour exam is given in 2, four-hour time blocks from 8:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 5:00.
